Crazy House Project #1. . . DONE

We are done and we survived! There were days that I really didn't think I would make it through. But when you have a deadline, you just keep pushing forward. So on May 10th, our house was ready to host an open house for a cute friend of ours that had gotten married. It was fun and our house looked great. The funny part was that everyone hung out in the one room we didn't remodel! Oh well, we did it more for the incentive. . . we aren't very good and getting projects done unless we "need" to. At least it is done and it isn't just to sell it to someone else . . .which is why we fixed up our two previous houses. Phil keeps asking me when we are going to start on house projects again. I don't think he realizes that he is putting his life at risk when he asks me this. So. . . if you don't see him. . . you know what happened!

These are a few pictures from the open house. The yummy food. I didn't make the cookies, I'm not that creative or patient!

Three Girls???

This is what Kyson was up to while the other men were gone. I don't think he will like the fact that I have these pictures and video when he is older. The girls were teaching him how to dance, and the video is a play they were working on for when Phil and Kaden came home. They even went outside looking like this. Our neighbors really don't know what to think of our kids. Kyson even wanted to wear this to preschool the next day, and even put it under his regular clothes.

Blue Man Group

I can't believe I haven't blogged about the Blue Man Group concert we went to a couple of weeks ago. Time just flies by. . .

Anway, we had a great time. The concert was very entertaining and everyone had tons of fun. Kyson covered his ears at first, but then really got in to it. He did hide under his seat when the men came into the audience looking for people to go up on stage with them. It took me a while to convince him to come out. I had to promise that I wouldn't let them take him if they came up again.

Here are the highlights of the evening.

Kyson the Pancake Man

Kyson loves to help cook pancakes. Since this is a staple dinner at our house, he has plenty of opportunity.

Pancake flipping just wouldn't be the same without a rock star pose

Almost Done

I am excited to report that we are almost done with the huge house projects we started! I actually only have the bay window, window seat, and front door to paint. That is amazing from where we started!

We got a lot done this week even with 2 sick kids. Kambrie and Kyson both came down with Strep Throat. Poor Kambrie suffered for several days before I clued in that she might actually have something worse than the stomach flu. Kyson was so sick yesterday that he just layed around all day. He didn't even want to watch t.v. it "bothered his eyes." And he didn't want a lot of loud noises going on. Thankfully he was feeling some what better when Phil started ripping some flooring up and making TONS of noise at about 9 p.m.

Here are a few pictures of the work in progress. Soon I will post the finished ones. I can't wait. All this hard work is paying off. Even if I did have a break down on Thurs. night due to tiredness and the lack of adult socializing!

Living room. Almost done with painting. The trim takes soooo much time!
